Mark Pulman
Born in Cornwall, Mark is the son of a Devonshire father and Cornish mother.
On leaving school he trained at the Exeter School of Catering at Exeter College for 3 years. Upon completing the course he moved to The Manor House Hotel, Mortonhampstead which is now known as The Bovey Castle. He started there as a Commis Chef, rapidly progressing to Sous Chef. It was during this period the team gained their first AA rosette. |
 |
Mark moved to The English Brasserie Company at Brazz Exeter as Head Chef in 2000, aged just 24. Whilst with this company he also worked at Brazz Taunton, part of the prestigious Castle Hotel complex. During his time at Brazz Exeter, Mark achieved another AA Rosette and successfully retained it the following year.
In 2003, Mark spent a year working and travelling around Australia. Here he honed his skills the Australian way, especially with regards to the preparation and cooking of fish. |

Mark becomes a restaurateur in October 2009 by opening The Green Door for business, achieving his ambition of having his own restaurant. He specialises in producing what he calls ‘comfort food’ using quality, locally sourced seasonal ingredients. His policy is to provide quality with value for money. No one leaves The Green Door hungry. |
Mark has recently developed his own range of Ice Creams, Jams, Preserves, Chutneys and he produces his own Beefburgers. These new ranges are available for takeaway along with many of the dishes he has available on his menu.
If you are having a special occasion but don’t want to venture to The Green Door then let Mark come to you. Mark and his team can, by arrangement, cook a meal for you and your guests in the comfort of your own home. They will even do the dishes after!
Mark would like to welcome you to The Green Door for your special occasions, an evening out with family and friends, a lunchtime meeting or just a nice cup of tea and a slice of cake. Or, if you are in a rush, ring ahead and place an order for takeaway. |
